Remove offensive scenes of web series by 7 days: HC

The High Court on Wednesday asked the authorities concerned to remove ‘offensive scenes’ of all web series from internet by next seven days.

The single bench of justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order after hearing on a writ petition.

Advocate Tanvir Ahmed said he watched a report on Bangladeshi web series aired by a private TV channel on June 6. 

On June 14, he sent legal notice to the respondents but on July 12 he filed a public interest writ petition as saw no progress in response of the notice. 

The court also asked Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to submit a report in this regard within 30 days, Tanvir added.
